The eyes are key features of the face. Often times they are the first and last part of the face noticed by your friends and acquaintances. People frequently perceive your mood and general health status by looking at your face and eyes. Correction of the "tired" eyes can be achieved with an eyelid reduction procedure. Baggy, puffy, or swollen lower eyelids can be reduced with the selective removal of fat pads under the eyes. In some cases, skin can also be removed to tighten the lower eyelids.

Redundant, baggy or overhanging, and sometimes visually obstructive upper eyelids can be corrected in a similar fashion. Typically skin and fat are removed from the upper eyelids to open up the eyes and reveal the lid margins. Both procedures can be performed in the office surgical suite with minor sedation and local anesthesia. Recovery is quick, with minimal to no postoperative pain reported by most patients. Eyelid surgery almost always has the best overall postoperative patient satisfaction rating, including Dr. Apesos, who has had his lower eyelids reduced.

    Asian Eyes

The epicanthal fold seen in Asian eyelids is very attractive to the westerners who don't have them. Some Asians however would like their eyes altered to a more "western" look. This is very common in Hawaii and California. Today we have learned from the masters of plastic surgery like Dr. Flowers the essentials of the procedure so it is available everywhere.
