In addition to my cosmetic and adult reconstructive practiced for 15 years I also directed the cleft lip and craniofacial clinics of the Children's Medical Center of Dayton, Ohio. This directorship position integrated the total coordination of the newborn cleft clinic with the oral surgeons, otologist, otorhinolaryngoloist Speech therapist, dentist, orthodontist, and nutritionist. Today we are treating many adult patients with old scarred cleft repairs, and with poorly and inadequately treated cleft lip problems originally treated in third world countries. This new venue of surgical dilemmas has created a great challenge, which is personally fulfilling, as was the directorship at the CMC.
